Catching up on some sessions I never got around to blogging, and couldn’t resist posting this one from a recent outdoor family photography session. I’ve been photographing this family for years, starting all the way back when their daughter was a newborn. It’s such a gift to watch kids grow — one minute they’re tiny and sleepy, and now she’s a lively, curious little kid with so much personality.
This sweet girl is full of energy, always fun, and has the kind of personality that keeps everyone laughing. We spent a lot of the time walking around, chatting, and letting her be herself — which always leads to the most natural, joyful family photos.
We shot this session in Montgomery County, Maryland, at a spot with beautiful, soft light and plenty of variety for photos. There were perfect areas for playful action shots, as well as sweet, quiet moments — which made capturing the whole family’s personality so easy and fun.
