You’ve just brought your new baby home from the hospital. Such an amazing time in your life. So much excitement and love is filling your home. As a mom, I remember how it felt. Like any other mom, I wanted to capture every moment and emotion because it was all going by so quickly. How tiny your baby is in your arms, how adorable your older children look when holds their new sibling, how precious your newborn looks in his/her father’s arms. So many memories that we don’t want to forget.

How can you document this time to remember forever in a stress-free way? Here are my top 5 reasons why you should choose to have an in-home newborn session.
It’s easier to stay home
You have a new baby, you’re exhausted from being up every few hours to feed and the thought of packing your huge diaper bag filled with clothes, wipes, pacifiers and one of the other hundred things your baby might need is a little overwhelming. Leaving your house with a newborn is hard and getting out the door on time for an appointment is almost impossible!
Leave it to me to pack and remember to bring everything to your home. Relax, while I set up and photograph your family.

Everyone (including your older children and fur babies) will be more comfortable
Sitting in someone else’s space for a few hours with your family and a newborn can be tough. At your home, you don’t have to be concerned about having all the supplies you need to change a diaper, where or when you’ll nurse your baby or how you’ll warm up a bottle.
When I include your older children in the images, the most important thing I want to capture is your connection as a family and your children’s true personalities. They love showing me around their rooms and their favorite toys. It’s an instant way for me to connect with them and help them feel more comfortable. In most situations, we are instantly friends when they see I’m in their home with their family. And if they need a break, they can just go play with their toys, grab a snack, take a nap, whatever makes them happy.
Your pet is also a part of the family and including them in your session is easy when in your home.

It’s more personal
Photographing in your home allows me to capture your space, the one that you’ll make so many memories in. I may capture your family snuggling on your bed, mom sitting with the baby in the nursery she’ll spend countless hours in or your children sitting on your couch in your living room looking at their new sibling,
You also might have spent many hours organizing and decorating your nursery, let me capture all the little details that make your child’s first room so special and unique. When you look back at your photos years later I want you to be brought right back to our session and the feelings you felt in these precious first few weeks.
Spit up happens
Babies spit up, have diaper accidents and drool. It happens and it’s completely expected! It’s so nice to know that your closet is only a few steps away and you anyone in the family can easily change and freshen up if needed.
Product planning is easier
When photographing, I want to make sure the images will fit nicely with the colors in your home. When I’m in your home, I’ll be able to see your decorations, the types of artwork, materials and colors you fill your home with and the styles you gravitate towards. It’s makes helping you select products that will fit well with your space and style much easier

This sounds great BUT what if my home isn’t photo worthy?
Whether your in your forever home or your right now home, it’s your babies first home. The first place you’ll bring him/her to and the place where many firsts will happen.
And we expect your home to be a little messy, you just had a baby! Dirty dishes, piles of laundry, it’s all fine! The only thing I ask you to do is make your bed, that’s it! Trust me all you will see in your images is your beautiful family making memories.
