Awake and Adorable! | Bethesda, Maryland Newborn Photographer

I met this sweet family months ago when I photographed their maternity session. At that time, they had three beautiful girls and mom was pregnant with her fourth. They were keeping the gender a surprise so I was thrilled for them when they announced they had a baby boy!

I photographed their newborn session in their home. Mom and dad had chosen a Dr. Seuss theme for the nursery, so we incorporated this into the images. During our session, this sweet little guy was very alert, wide eyed and taking in his surroundings. He didn’t want to miss anything! He did however fall asleep long enough for us to get some curled up sleepy images as well. Parents will sometimes ask what happens if their baby doesn’t sleep. I always assure them that we’ll capture adorable images whether their baby is awake or asleep. Almost all babies fall asleep for at least part of the session and while they are awake we can capture great eye contact!

Congratulations to his parents and wonderful big sisters! He is one lucky boy to be surrounded by so much love!

Thinking about booking your newborn session? It’s never too early! I suggest booking your newborn session in your second trimester to guarantee that I can photograph your newborn. I will try to accommodate later bookings as well. Once your session is booked, I will reserve time around your due date to ensure that I can photograph your family whenever your baby arrives.  Newborn sessions occur between 5 – 14 days old after the birth of the baby.
